Nicole wrote and directed PERIOD., a short narrative film for Paramount+.
Story: PERIOD. is a lighthearted coming-of-age comedy about two middle-school girls who embark on a Robin Hood-style mission to steal pads and tampons for classmates who can’t afford them. Through humor and friendship, the film explores period poverty and access to menstrual products.
About: PERIOD. is part of IN BLOOM, an anthology of five scripted short films for Paramount+ exploring gender-equity issues around the world. The anthology was funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and created by the MTV Staying Alive Foundation.
Accolades: Nicole was invited to present the film and speak at the United Nations about media, social impact, and gender equity. IN BLOOM won the Shorty Award for best Branded Series and was featured on the Paramount+ homepage for International Women’s Day. It received press in Vogue Arabia, Mashable, Variety, and more.
The film has also been released internationally through BET Africa, Pluto TV, and Amazon Prime in select territories.
